Project - Increasing Awareness of Essential Skills among
                 Canadian Employers

Project funded by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC)

Project objectives

• Inform a Canadian-wide audience of employers, business associations, sector councils, organized labour, and community-based trainers and educators about the impact Essential Skills have on employee productivity and safety performance, among other benefits, and about the available tools and resources such as Essential Skills profiles; and
  
  
• Help college partners forge stronger working relationships with local businesses and other community-based service providers on matters relating to Essential Skills and their development.
  

Results achieved

• Supported by print-based promotional material, a national campaign was launched;
  
  
• Meetings between colleges/institutes and their partners were held across the country;
  
  
• A summary of the project’s results.
