ACCC's "With One Voice" Strategic Plan 2009-2012 states

ACCC will Advocate for Members

Promote the excellence of members as the prime providers of advanced skills and applied research for social and economic development.

Current priorities are to:

  • position the college and institute role within Canada’s Science, Technology and Research Agenda and access sustained funding for applied research

  • leverage additional benefits from the current Knowledge Infrastructure Program

  • achieve increased funding for the Post-secondary Student Support Program for Status Indians and Inuit Students including funds to reduce the current waitlists

While the Association’s advocacy efforts with the Federal government, business and other stakeholders are focussed on the above three areas, ongoing advocacy areas are to:

  • maintain dedicated post-secondary transfer, equipment, immigrant integration, pan-Canadian postsecondary statistics, apprenticeship, student finance, rural development, and literacy and numeracy programs

  • secure a significant increase in the visa approval rate for Indian international students

  • have the new Copyright Legislation reflect the position of the member institutions

  • secure increased federal funding for members through pan- Canadian projects on essential skills, immigrant integration and Aboriginal inclusion

  • position ACCC and our members as providers of choice for federal government initiatives on advanced skills and social inclusion
